The International Journal of Behavioral Social and Movement Sciences (IJOBSMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and scholarly publishing. The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process and adheres to internationally recognized ethical principles to ensure the quality, originality, credibility, and integrity of published research.

The journal supports the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold the highest ethical standards throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to IJOBSMS are expected to:

  • • Submit original, unpublished, and authentic scholarly work.
  • • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of research data and findings.
  • • Provide appropriate acknowledgment and citation of all sources used.
  • • Disclose all sources of funding and financial support.
  • • Declare any conflicts of interest that may influence the research.
  • • Disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools where applicable.
  • • Obtain ethical approval for studies involving human participants or animals when required.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • • Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially.
  • • Provide constructive and evidence-based feedback.
  • • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
  • • Disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
  • • Inform the editors of any suspected ethical concerns, plagiarism, or research misconduct.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • • Evaluating manuscripts solely on scholarly merit, originality, relevance, and ethical compliance.
  • • Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • • Preserving the integrity of the peer review process.
  • • Managing conflicts of interest appropriately.
  • • Taking reasonable action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct arise.
Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using recognized plagiarism detection software prior to peer review. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, excessive similarity, or other forms of publication misconduct may be rejected during the editorial assessment process.

Research Misconduct

IJOBSMS does not tolerate any form of research or publication misconduct. Examples of misconduct include:

Plagiarism
Data fabrication
Data falsification
Citation manipulation
Duplicate submission
Duplicate publication
Inappropriate authorship
Image manipulation
Undisclosed conflicts of interest

Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, including manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, article retraction, or notification of relevant institutions.

Corrections and Expressions of Concern

The journal is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Where errors, omissions, or concerns are identified after publication, the journal may publish corrections, corrigenda, errata, or expressions of concern as appropriate.

Retraction Policy

Articles may be retracted when:

  • • Research findings are determined to be unreliable.
  • • Significant errors affect the validity of the work.
  • • Plagiarism is identified.
  • • Data fabrication or falsification is confirmed.
  • • Serious breaches of publication ethics occur.

Retracted articles will remain part of the scholarly record and will be clearly identified as retracted.

Open Access

IJOBSMS operates under a full Open Access publishing model and supports the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). All published articles are freely available online without subscription fees or access restrictions. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, and share published content in accordance with the applicable license terms.

Authors retain copyright of their published work. By publishing in IJOBSMS, authors grant the journal the right to publish, archive, index, and disseminate the article as part of the scholarly record.
