The International Journal of Behavioral Social and Movement Sciences (IJOBSMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. The journal expects all submitted manuscripts to represent original scholarly work and strictly prohibits plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of publication misconduct.

The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics standards and supports the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of another person's ideas, words, data, images, figures, tables, or research findings without appropriate acknowledgment or citation. Examples of plagiarism include, but are not limited to:

Copying text from published or unpublished sources without proper citation.
Presenting another person's ideas or research findings as one's own.
Inadequate paraphrasing of previously published material.
Reproducing figures, tables, or images without appropriate permission or acknowledgment.
Using copyrighted material without authorization.
Submitting work that substantially overlaps with previously published content.
Originality Requirements

Authors are required to submit original manuscripts that have not been published previously and are not under consideration by another journal.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • • The work is original.
  • • All sources have been appropriately cited.
  • • Any reused material has been properly acknowledged.
  • • The manuscript complies with accepted standards of research and publication ethics.
Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening before entering the peer review process. The journal may use recognized plagiarism detection software, including Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools, to assess originality and identify potential ethical concerns.

Manuscripts containing unacceptable levels of similarity may be:
  • • Returned to the authors for clarification or revision.
  • • Rejected during editorial assessment.
  • • Subject to further ethical review where necessary.
Self-Plagiarism and Redundant Publication

Authors should not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without proper citation and disclosure.

The journal considers the following practices unacceptable:

  • • Duplicate publication.
  • • Redundant publication.
  • • Excessive text recycling.
  • • Submission of substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals.
Salami Publication

Authors should not divide a single research study into multiple publications solely to increase publication output. Where related manuscripts exist, authors should disclose this information during submission and provide relevant references.

Citation Integrity

Authors are expected to provide accurate, complete, and appropriate citations for all sources used in the preparation of their manuscripts. All quotations, data, methods, theories, and previously published materials must be properly acknowledged through citation of the original source.

Editorial Action

Where plagiarism or publication misconduct is suspected, the journal may conduct an investigation in accordance with its publication ethics policies. Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, actions may include:

Requesting clarification from the authors.
Requiring revision of the manuscript.
Rejecting the manuscript.
Publishing corrections or expressions of concern.
Retracting a published article.
Notifying relevant institutions or funding agencies when appropriate.
COPE Compliance

IJOBSMS follows the principles and best practice guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to promoting honesty, transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

This policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in publication ethics, plagiarism detection practices, and international scholarly publishing standards.
