Digital Archiving Policy

The International Journal of Behavioral Social and Movement Sciences (IJOBSMS) is committed to supporting the long-term accessibility, integrity, availability, and continuity of its published scholarly content. The journal recognizes that responsible scholarly publishing requires reasonable measures to protect the published record against accidental loss, technical disruption, system failure, website migration, and technological change.

This policy describes the journal's approach to the backup, storage, recovery, migration, accessibility, and preservation of published articles and associated bibliographic metadata, aiming to maintain an accurate scholarly record while ensuring transparent technical arrangements.

Purpose of Digital Archiving

The primary purpose is to support the continued availability and integrity of published scholarly material over time. These practices reduce permanent data loss risks, facilitate rapid system recovery following technical disruption, maintain publication metadata, support discoverability, and preserve post-publication notice links.

Scope of Archived Content

• Final published article files

• Titles, abstracts & keywords

• Author names & affiliations

• Volume & issue details

• Citation & DOI records

• Licensing & copyright data

• Supplementary materials

• Corrections & retractions

Infrastructure, Backup & Continuity

Website & Data Backup Systematic backups are maintained off-site to protect website files, articles, and databases against server incidents or corruption.

Source-Code Management Developed using PHP, code is managed via GitHub for version control and maintenance (strictly for source code, not article preservation).

Storage & Recovery Recoverable copies are isolated from active web environments to prioritize scholarly file integrity and bibliographic accuracy.

Platform & Migration Measures are enforced during hosting or database transfers to seamlessly migrate published content, DOIs, and licensing records without data loss.

Article Integrity

Published versions are permanently retained. Content is not silently replaced or altered; post-publication changes follow formal COPE editorial notices.

Metadata Preservation

Bibliographic records, author info, abstracts, and registered DOI data are maintained to support continuous indexing, retrieval, and citation.

DOI Integrity

Assigned DOIs are registered and persistently linked to active content. Incomplete or pending identifiers are never falsely represented as active.

Author Self-Archiving

IJOBSMS supports author self-archiving in institutional repositories, subject archives, and personal academic pages. Self-archiving complements, but does not replace, the journal's official record.

Current Preservation Status

Internal systematic backups are fully operational. IJOBSMS is actively evaluating external long-term digital preservation partners compatible with its PHP infrastructure, which will be disclosed upon formal activation.

Continuity Upon Journal Cessation

In the event that publication permanently ceases, reasonable efforts will be executed to maintain, preserve, or transfer all previously published scholarly content and metadata so that the scholarly record remains accessible to the scientific community.

Policy Review & Disclaimer

This policy is reviewed periodically and updated as technical infrastructure evolves. While reasonable measures are implemented by IJOBSMS to support continuity and recovery, uninterrupted website availability cannot be guaranteed under all circumstances.
