Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Behavioral Social and Movement Sciences (IJOBSMS) welcomes the submission of original, high-quality, and unpublished scholarly work that contributes to the advancement of behavioral sciences, social sciences, education, physical education, sports sciences, movement sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Authors are encouraged to carefully review these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts to ensure compliance with the journal’s editorial, ethical, and publication requirements.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. The recommended structure includes:

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • • Full title of the manuscript
  • • Full names of all authors
  • • Institutional affiliations
  • • ORCID iDs (where available)
  • • Corresponding author details, including email address and affiliation
Abstract and Keywords

Authors should provide a structured and informative abstract summarizing the objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions of the study.

A minimum of four (4) and a maximum of six (6) keywords should be provided below the abstract.

Formatting Requirements

Authors should ensure that manuscripts are prepared in a clear and consistent format. Tables, figures, illustrations, and charts should be of high quality and appropriately numbered. All tables and figures must be cited within the text and accompanied by descriptive captions.

References and Citations

References should be accurate, complete, and formatted consistently according to the journal’s citation style. Authors are encouraged to include Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for cited references whenever available.

Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all references before submission.

ORCID

The journal strongly recommends that authors provide their ORCID iD to support accurate researcher identification and improve the discoverability of scholarly work.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors who use generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools during manuscript preparation must disclose such use within the manuscript.

AI tools may assist with language editing or content organization; however, AI systems cannot be listed as authors and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and content of their work.

Research Ethics and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

Research involving human participants or animals must have received approval from the appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board where required.

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unacceptable levels of similarity may be rejected.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the interpretation of their research.

If no conflicts exist, authors should state:
"The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Funding Information

Authors should disclose all sources of financial support associated with the research, including funding agencies, grant numbers, and project identifiers where applicable.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide a Data Availability Statement describing the availability of data supporting the findings of the study and the conditions under which such data may be accessed.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Open Access and Copyright

IJOBSMS operates under a full Open Access publishing model. All published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source.

Authors retain copyright of their published work.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s official submission system or designated editorial communication channel. Authors will receive confirmation of receipt and will be informed of the progress of their manuscript throughout the editorial and peer review process.

Author Responsibility: Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, originality, authenticity, ethical compliance, and integrity of their submitted work. Submission of a manuscript confirms that all authors have approved the final version and agree to its submission for consideration by IJOBSMS. The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics standards and supports the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
