Environmental responsibility among youth has become an essential area of research due to increasing ecological challenges, climate change concerns, and the need for sustainable behavioral transformation. This study examines the behavioral drivers that influence environmental responsibility among young individuals by exploring the role of environmental awareness, personal values, social influence, environmental education, and sustainable lifestyle practices.
A quantitative research approach was adopted, and data were collected from 300 youth respondents through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26, applying descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression techniques. The findings revealed that environmental awareness, social responsibility, and educational exposure significantly influence environmentally responsible behaviors among youth.
The results indicated a strong positive relationship between behavioral drivers and environmental responsibility, demonstrating that informed and motivated youth are more likely to participate in sustainable practices such as waste reduction, energy conservation, recycling, and environmental advocacy. The study highlights the importance of integrating environmental education and community-based initiatives to strengthen sustainable attitudes among young generations. These findings provide valuable implications for educators, policymakers, and environmental organizations seeking to promote long-term ecological responsibility and sustainable development.
