Abstract

Behavioral adaptability has become an essential competency for students navigating increasingly dynamic academic environments. The ability to adjust behaviors, learning strategies, and interpersonal interactions in response to changing educational demands contributes significantly to academic success and lifelong learning.

This study investigates the relationship between behavioral adaptability and academic achievement among undergraduate students in higher education institutions. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, collecting data from 300 undergraduate students using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. Statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, multiple regression, and reliability testing, were conducted using SPSS Version 26.

The findings indicate a strong positive relationship between behavioral adaptability and academic achievement (r = 0.81, p < 0.001). Students demonstrating higher levels of adaptability exhibited better academic performance, improved classroom engagement, enhanced problem-solving abilities, and stronger emotional regulation. Regression analysis revealed that behavioral adaptability significantly predicts academic achievement, accounting for 68% of the variance in student performance.

The study further identifies self-regulation, resilience, communication skills, and cognitive flexibility as major dimensions influencing educational outcomes. The findings emphasize the importance of incorporating adaptability training, emotional intelligence development, and active learning strategies into higher education curricula. Educational institutions can improve student success by fostering adaptive behaviors through supportive learning environments, mentoring programs, and collaborative instructional approaches. This research contributes to educational psychology by highlighting behavioral adaptability as a critical determinant of academic excellence and student development.
