Abstract

Digital learning technologies have transformed higher education by creating flexible, interactive, and learner-centered educational environments that support continuous learning beyond traditional classroom settings. The increasing use of learning management systems, virtual classrooms, mobile learning applications, digital assessment platforms, cloud-based collaboration tools, and artificial intelligence-enabled educational resources has significantly influenced students\' learning experiences and academic behaviour. These technologies encourage greater learner engagement, self-directed learning, collaborative interaction, digital communication, and academic productivity while improving access to educational resources and personalized learning opportunities. The present study investigated the adoption of digital learning technologies and their influence on student behavioral adaptation in higher education institutions. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was employed involving 250 undergraduate and postgraduate students from selected higher education institutions. Digital learning technology adoption was assessed through the use of learning management systems, virtual learning environments, digital collaboration platforms, online assessment tools, and mobile learning applications, whereas student behavioral adaptation was evaluated through learning engagement, self-directed learning, digital collaboration, academic motivation, time management, and learning satisfaction. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were employed to analyse the collected data. The findings revealed a high level of digital learning technology adoption and a significant positive relationship between technology use and student behavioral adaptation. Students demonstrating greater adoption of digital learning technologies reported higher levels of engagement, independent learning, collaboration, and academic motivation. The study concludes that effective integration of digital learning technologies plays a significant role in promoting positive behavioral adaptation among students and recommends continued investment in digital infrastructure, faculty support, and technology-enhanced teaching practices to improve educational quality and long-term learning outcomes.
