Abstract

Lifestyle choices adopted during the student years play a critical role in determining both immediate health outcomes and long-term health sustainability. Rapid technological advancement, academic pressure, unhealthy dietary habits, sedentary lifestyles, inadequate physical activity, poor sleep quality, psychological stress, and increased screen time have significantly influenced students\' health behaviors, affecting their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being as well as their academic performance. The present study examines the relationship between lifestyle choices and health sustainability among students by evaluating the major behavioral factors that influence overall well-being and exploring the role of health education, preventive healthcare, institutional support, and digital health interventions in promoting sustainable healthy lifestyles. A descriptive analytical approach was employed through a comprehensive review and synthesis of contemporary peer-reviewed literature, policy reports, and evidence-based studies. The findings reveal that balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, effective stress management, positive social relationships, and responsible use of digital technology contribute significantly to long term health sustainability, whereas unhealthy eating habits, sedentary behavior, excessive screen exposure, sleep deprivation, and chronic stress adversely affect physical health, psychological well-being, and academic achievement. The study further demonstrates that integrated health promotion strategies involving educational institutions, families, healthcare professionals, and community organizations are more effective in encouraging sustainable healthy behaviors than isolated interventions. It concludes that strengthening health education, campus wellness initiatives, mental health services, and technology-assisted health promotion programs can substantially improve students\' health sustainability and overall quality of life while providing valuable guidance for educators, researchers, healthcareprofessionals, and policymakers in developing comprehensive strategies that encourage lifelong healthy lifestyle practices.
