Abstract

Public health communication plays a critical role in promoting healthy behaviors, improving health literacy, and supporting disease prevention at both individual and community levels. Effective communication strategies enable individuals to access reliable health information, understand health risks, and make informed decisions regarding preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices. With the increasing use of digital media, social networking platforms, community awareness campaigns, and health education programs, public health communication has become an essential component of modern health promotion initiatives. Despite these advancements, differences in communication accessibility, information credibility, and public engagement continue to influence the adoption of positive health behaviors.
The present study examines public health communication and its role in promoting health behavior adoption. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, and primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire administered to the study participants. The findings indicate that effective public health communication positively influences healthy lifestyle adoption, preventive healthcare utilization, personal hygiene practices, and self-care behaviors. Participants with greater exposure to reliable health communication demonstrated higher levels of health awareness and stronger commitment to maintaining healthy behaviors. The study highlights the importance of strengthening public health communication through educational institutions, healthcare organizations, digital media, and community-based interventions to encourage sustainable health behavior adoption and improve overall public health outcomes.
