Abstract

Health education has become a fundamental pillar of public health promotion by equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to make informed decisions that support lifelong well-being. The increasing prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases has shifted healthcare priorities from treatment toward prevention, emphasizing the importance of health education in promoting healthy dietary practices, regular physical activity, effective stress management, adequate sleep, preventive healthcare utilization, and responsible health-related behaviors. Personal wellness is a multidimensional concept encompassing physical, mental, emotional, social, intellectual, environmental, and occupational well-being, all of which contribute to an individual\'s overall quality of life. The present study examined the role of health education in promoting personal wellness among emerging adults using a quantitative cross-sectional research design involving 400 participants. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and comparative statistical techniques. The findings revealed that higher health literacy was significantly associated with healthier lifestyle practices, greater participation in preventive healthcare, improved stress management, enhanced emotional well-being, and higher overall wellness. Participants with greater health education demonstrated better nutritional habits, more consistent physical activity, and improved quality of life than those with lower health literacy. The study concludes that strengthening health education through educational institutions, community based programs, workplace wellness initiatives, and digital health communication can substantially improve personal wellness while reducing the burden of preventable diseases. These findings highlight the need to integrate comprehensive health education into public health policies and educational systems to support sustainable health promotion and long term well-being.
