Study of Level of Vocational Interest in Government School Children

Abstract

The objective of the study is to see the level of vocational interest of Akhnoor Govt. school childrens. Twenty first century is the age of science and technology. The speedy achievements made by man in scientific technological and industrial fields have influenced each and every aspect of man’s life. Sample of 60 students consists of 30 boys and 30 girls, randomly selected from Akhnoor govt. school children of J&K state. The Vocational Interest Record(VIR) (S.P. Kulshrestha) was used as tool of investigation. The results lead to the conclusion that the female Govt. school children of Akhnoor district have shown highest vocational interest for the vocations related to Social (S) jobs such as Social Worker, Scout and Guide, Religious Reformer, etc. The results also indicated that the Male Govt. school children of Akhnoor district have reflected highest vocational interest for the vocations related to Persuasive (P) jobs such as M.P., M.L.A., Ambassador and Tourist-Guide, etc.
