The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of yoga practices on selected physiological variables among sedentary college women. For this purpose the 40 college women students in the age group of 21-23 years at Alagappa University sedentary women hostel were selected at random as subjects and were divided into two groups namely control group, experimental group. The training programme was for a period of six weeks. During this period, the control groups were not given any training. The data were collected on the selected physiological variable resting pulse rate, breath holding time and cardiovascular efficiency respectively before training (pre test) as well as after six weeks training (post test). Dependent ‘t’ test was used to find out any significant difference between the pre- and post-test means and any significant difference that was exists between the yoga practice group and control group on selected criterion variables. The significance was set at 0 .05 level. The result of the study shows the yoga practice has decreased the resting pulse rate and increases the cardiovascular efficiency and breath holding time significantly. It was concluded from the results of the study that yoga practice has brought positive changes in selected physiological variables namely; resting pulse rate, breath holding time and cardiovascular efficiency and it was due to the performance of various Asana Postures, Pranayama, Kriyas, Suryanamaskara and Meditation.Yoga,
