Human Movement Analysis and Postural Stability Assessment

Abstract

Human movement and postural stability are fundamental components of physical function that influence mobility, balance, injury prevention, and overall quality of life. Efficient movement depends on the coordinated interaction of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems, while postural stability ensures body alignment during static and dynamic activities. The present study investigates the relationship between human movement characteristics and postural stability by examining biomechanical and neuromuscular factors that influence functional performance. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 250 participants using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, mean score analysis, percentage analysis, and regression analysis were employed to evaluate the contribution of movement-related variables to postural stability. The findings indicate that postural stability, balance control, joint mobility, and muscle strength significantly improve movement efficiency and reduce the likelihood of movement dysfunction. Furthermore, balance training and core strengthening exercises emerged as the most effective strategies for enhancing postural control and functional movement. The study highlights the importance of integrating biomechanical assessment into physiotherapy, rehabilitation, sports science, and preventive healthcare to optimize movement performance and reduce musculoskeletal injury risk. The findings provide practical recommendations for clinicians, physiotherapists, sports scientists, and fitness professionals in developing evidence-based movement assessment and intervention programs.
