Attitude of Postgraduate Students of Education and Physical Education Towards Teaching Profession

Abstract

 Today’s education must lay a strong foundation for “Man of Character”. The aim of teaching profession actually is to get the opportunity to modify the behavior of the child according to the needs and experiences of the society. This study was conducted with the purpose to know the attitude of P.G students of education and physical education in two states of India i.e. Jammu & Kashmir and Kerala towards teaching profession.
Objectives of the study were:
1. To know the attitude of education and physical education P.G students towards teaching profession.
2. To compare the significance of attitude of male and female subjects of P.G Students towards teaching profession.
3. To compare the significance of attitude of subjects belongs to rich, middle and poor economic students. Study was on 200 students of MEd and MPEd studying in different colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and Kerala.
Five points Sub-mating rating scale was used for measuring the attitude of student’s attitude towards teaching profession. Data was analyzed through applying “t” test and chi-sqare. From the results it was inferred that students belonging to different economics classes differ in their attitude regarding professions. Attitude of the students of PG education and physical education has been found favorable.
