ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEACHING PROFESSION OF DIFFERENT PROFESSIONAL COURSES STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the attitude towards teaching profession of different professional courses students. For this study hundred (100) students were selected, fifty (50) from department education, fifty (50) from physical education department, Attitude towards teaching profession was measured by using a questionnaire namely “Teacher Attitude Inventory” developed and standardized by Dr. S.P. Ahluwalia. The scoring of the questionnaire was done on the basis of manual of teaching attitude inventory. The data was collected and statistically analyzed by using mean and standard deviation. For comparison between the group ‘t’ test was applied and level of significance was set at 0.05. The results of the study revealed that there is no significant difference between the students of Physical education and students of education in the teaching attitude. The reason of insignificant difference is that both the courses are teacher education course and are directly related to the teaching profession. The results of the study reveal that significant difference found between the students of education with the students physical education.
