Conflict of Interest Policy

The International Journal of Behavioral Social and Movement Sciences (IJOBSMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in scholarly publishing. To ensure objectivity and trust in the scientific process, all authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

What Constitutes a Conflict of Interest?

A conflict of interest occurs when an individual’s personal, financial, or professional affiliations could influence or appear to influence their objectivity in the publication process. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial relationships (e.g., employment, consultancy, stock ownership, honoraria, or paid expert testimony)
  • Academic or institutional affiliations
  • Personal relationships that may bias judgment
  • Competing intellectual or ideological beliefs

Author Responsibilities

Authors must declare any conflicts of interest related to their submitted manuscript at the time of submission. This declaration should be included in a “Conflict of Interest” section at the end of the manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Reviewer & Editor Responsibilities

Reviewers and editorial board members must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists. Editors will reassign such submissions to impartial reviewers to uphold the integrity of the peer review process.

Failure to Disclose

Failure to disclose a potential conflict of interest may lead to the rejection of the manuscript or retraction of published work, depending on the severity of the breach.

This policy is aligned with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and reflects our ongoing commitment to ethical publishing practices.
